Small fixes first

A treatment helps shingles that are already in place. It will not reattach a tab that has blown loose or seal a nail head that has backed out. Treating over those spots leaves the weak points exactly where they were.
So when the assessment turns up minor issues, we fix them in a tune-up before any treatment goes on. You see the list and the price for those fixes separately, so it is clear which part is repair and which part is treatment.
Typical tune-up work
Every tune-up is built from what the assessment found.
- Exposed or backed-out nail heads sealed
- Lifted flashing resealed at walls, chimneys and valleys
- Loose vents and cracked pipe boots secured or replaced
- Loose shingles fastened back down
- Missing shingles replaced with the closest match available
- Debris cleared from valleys and behind chimneys
Where a tune-up fits, and where it does not
A tune-up covers
- Minor wear found during the assessment
- A handful of loose or missing shingles
- Flashing and boots that need resealing
- Prep before shingle rejuvenation
A tune-up is not
- Leak repair or storm-damage repair
- Replacing large sections of decking
- A substitute for a new roof when one is due
Tune-up questions
Can I get a tune-up without a treatment?
Yes. Some roofs only need the small fixes for now. We will tell you if that is the case and leave the treatment for a later visit.
Will the replacement shingles match?
We find the closest match available. On an older roof a new shingle can look slightly different at first, and we point out where they will go before we start.
